Enamel Drop EarringsMy Cherry Pie is leaving Home!!

Firstly big huge thank you to all my friends, customers and stockists who have supported me and enabled me to make this big step.

As of the beginning of this month I have moved my studio out of the house and into a shared and larger studio in Preston House,Inverkeithing,Fife. This will allow me to do so much more with my business such as artist events, workshops, tuition and other collaborative projects.

This is not a decision that has been taken lightly as I have worked from home for over 9 years in a beautiful space above my garage whilst looking after my three boys. However after the summer this year my youngest son will be starting school and I will have a lot more time to dedicate to my business My Cherry Pie Jewellery and Gifts.

It is a bit of a financial and emotional leap, but it is something I have worked towards and dreamed about and I would like to share this adventure with you so that you can learn from my mistakes and have the courage to take a leap of faith towards what you really want to do in life.

I started making jewellery for an hour a week when my first baby was tiny, it gave me a focus and a sense of satisfaction in the baby years when so often you get lost as a Mummy. Thankfully I started making things that people wanted to buy and i was able to sustain my ‘me time’. I have fed this little seed of creativity and it has grown along with my children into an enjoyable and profitable business that deserves to graduate to bigger and better things.

They are Angela McGilvray of Black Rock Textiles, who machine knits colourful, fun, cushions, scarfs and gifts in beautiful pure wools, and Jane Francis who is an artist specialising in acrylic and mixed media drawing and painting based around history and literature. I will tell you a lot more about them in future blog posts. So please stay tuned.

Don’t worry though I am certainly not leaving Kinghorn and am still involved in local creative events. The most recent one being an exhibition based at the award winning Kinghorn Art Gallery Station called TheArtline. www.theartline.co.uk at the beginning of next month.

At the moment I am a mix of excitement, nerves, terror, and disarray but as the saying goes “every big adventure starts with a first step”

Wish Me Luck
